Aluko & Oyebode is pleased to have advised Sage Grey Finance Limited (“Sage Grey”), a financial institution licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria and integrated into the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), on the establishment and launch of the US$10 million Circular Economy Impact Facility (“CEIF”). The CEIF reflects Sage Grey’s commitment to providing impactful financial solutions and was launched in partnership with the Circular Business Platform and Perazim Impact Consulting, with support from the Netherlands Consulate in Nigeria.
The CEIF is designed to provide structured debt financing, technical assistance and governance support to eligible businesses across their growth lifecycles, particularly businesses operating in recycling, waste-to-value, renewable energy, green manufacturing and other circular economy sectors.
The CEIF aims to achieve measurable economic and environmental outcomes, with a target of extending capital to 120 businesses, supporting the creation of more than 3,000 jobs, and allocating 30% of the available funding to women-led enterprises.
The Firm’s transaction team advised on the transaction structure and reviewed and drafted the definitive agreements. The team was led by our Partner, Ayodeji Oyetunde, with support from our Managing Associate, Bukola Akinsulere, and Associates, Glory Akani and Blessing Egunjobi.
