A Firm Built to Give Back
Since our founding in 1993, Aluko & Oyebode has grown into one of Nigeria’s leading commercial law firms and with that growth comes a responsibility to invest meaningfully in the people, institutions and environment around us.
Our Responsible Business initiatives are driven by the active participation of our lawyers and staff at every level, guided by a simple principle: that lasting impact is built through consistency, not single gestures. Each year, we publish a CSR & Pro Bono Report detailing our activities and their outcomes, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and accountability in the impact we create.
Our Pillars
Pro Bono
We believe access to justice should never depend on the ability to pay for it. Our lawyers volunteer their time and expertise to support individuals, non-profit organisations and public interest causes from community legal aid and whistleblower protection to institutional capacity building holding our pro bono work to the same standard of excellence as our commercial practice.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Our CSR programme channels resources and energy into education, environmental stewardship, community welfare and the wellbeing of the legal profession from our partnership with Teach For Nigeria and the BOA Scholarship Award, to our outreach visits to remand homes and our partnership with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation.
The BOA Lawyers’ League
Held annually in honour of our founding partner, the late Bankole Olumide Aluko, SAN, the BOA Lawyers’ League unites law firms, in-house legal teams and regulatory institutions in a season of friendly competition promoting wellness, sportsmanship and fellowship across the legal profession while celebrating a legacy of excellence.
Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG)
Sound governance, social responsibility and environmental stewardship sit at the heart of how we operate as a Firm and at the heart of how we advise our clients. We help businesses across Nigeria develop ESG strategies aligned with international best practice, while holding ourselves to the same standards we recommend to others.
A Continuing Commitment
Our Responsible Business initiatives have grown year on year, from a single act of remembrance for our founding partner to a multi-pillar programme spanning education, the environment, access to justice and governance. This sustained commitment has been recognised externally, including category honours for CSR and Pro Bono at the ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards.
