The 20th edition of the BOA Lawyers’ League kicked off on 2 March 2025, bringing together leading legal professionals in the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The Tournament which is held annually in honour of one of our founding partners, the Late Bankole Olumide Aluko SAN, stands as a testament to his legacy within the legal community.

This year, 15 law firms and the Lagos State Ministry of Justice are participating. The participating law firms are Aluko & Oyebode, AELEX, Advoocat Law Practice, Africa Law Practice NG & Company, Banwo & Ighodalo, Bloomfield LP, Dentons ACAS-Law , Duale, Ovia & Alex-Adedipe, G. Elias, Olaniwun Ajayi LP, PINHEIRO LP, PUNUKA Attorneys & Solicitors, Stren & Blan Partners, TEMPLARS, and Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie.

As part of the formalities for the opening ceremony, Dr. Biodun Aluko, wife of the Late Bankole Olumide Aluko SAN and Mr. Oludare Senbore, one of our partners, delivered welcome addresses, marking the start of the competition. Dr. Biodun Aluko also performed the ceremonial kick-off, setting the Tournament in motion. The opening match saw Aluko & Oyebode’s A & O Panthers face off against Pinheiro LP, ending in a hard-fought draw.
