We support education and scholarship programs that develop future leaders, promote academic excellence, and expand access to meaningful learning opportunities.
The BOA Scholarship
Established in memory of our founding partner, the late Bankole Olumide Aluko, SAN,the BOA Scholarship is awarded annually to the best graduating law students at four prestigious Federal Universities: Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU); University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN); University of Lagos (UNILAG); and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU). There is no formal application process, recipients are selected directly by the Firm based on academic excellence. The scholarship covers the recipient’s tuition at the Nigerian Law School, the final stage of training before call to the Nigerian Bar

Teach For Nigeria Partnership
Aluko & Oyebode partners with Teach for Nigeria (TFN) to support educational equity for children across the country. As part of this partnership, our Lagos office has held an annual “AO Teach for Nigeria Week,” visiting schools such as Stadium Senior High School and Ajigbeda Girls Senior High School in Surulere, Lagos, to engage directly with teachers and students and to reaffirm the Firm’s commitment to addressing educational inequality in Nigeria.
Student Internship Programme
The Firm offers structured internship opportunities for law students at its offices in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. Students are selected for the programme based on academic achievement and excellence, and gain exposure to working alongside Firm lawyers, as well as access to the Firm’s library and resources during their internship.
NYSC Associate Programme
Each year, Aluko & Oyebode recruits National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Associates, offering newly qualified lawyers hands-on legal experience and mentorship as they begin their careers, ahead of further consideration for full-time roles at the Firm.

Sponsorship of the NBA-SBL Annual International Business Law Conference
Aluko & Oyebode has served as a Headline Sponsor of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) Annual International Business Law Conference, one of Africa’s leading forums at the intersection of law, business and policy. The Firm was confirmed among the headline sponsors of the 20th edition of the conference, themed “Beyond Reforms: Measuring Policy Impact,” held in Abuja.
Active Participation in NBA-SBL
Beyond sponsorship, Firm lawyers are active contributors to NBA-SBL programming. Partner Funmilayo Otsemobor, a member of the NBA-SBL Council, has moderated sessions of the Section’s “Business Law Weekly” series, including a session on networking strategies for client development. Other lawyers from the Firm have similarly featured as speakers and moderators across NBA-SBL events.
Sponsorship of the NBA Young Lawyers Forum (NBA-YLF)
Aluko & Oyebode sponsored the 2026 National Summit of the Nigerian Bar Association Young Lawyers Forum (NBA-YLF), held in Port Harcourt under the theme “Beyond Borders: Empowering the Next Generation in an Age of Disruption,” reflecting the Firm’s continued investment in developing the next generation of legal talent within the wider profession.
Structured Mentorship Programmes
Internally, the Firm has institutionalised structured mentoring programmes that connect senior lawyers with younger talent, supporting intergenerational knowledge transfer and leadership development across all levels of the Firm.
Championing Inclusive Leadership
Aluko & Oyebode has been recognised for its intentional approach to inclusion and gender balance in leadership. In 2025, Olubunmi Fayokun was appointed Chairman of the Firm, marking the first time since the Firm’s founding in 1993 that it has been led by three women in its most senior leadership roles — continuing a precedent set by her predecessor, Kofo Dosekun, the Firm’s first female Chairman

Port Harcourt Remand Home Visit
The Firm’s Port Harcourt office visited a local Remand Home, a correctional facility for children and young people, as part of its community engagement efforts spending time with and offering support to vulnerable young people within the justice system.
